ABOUT OTS-NYU

The Ottoman Seminar Series at NYU was established in 2006 under the guidance of Professor Leslie Peirce. In 2018, under the direction of Professor Ayşe Baltacıoğlu-Brammer, it became the Ottoman and Turkish Studies Initiative (OTS-NYU), configured as a platform of Ottoman and Post-Ottoman Studies (with a particular focus on Modern Turkey). Through lectures, panels, workshops, and roundtables, this interdisciplinary platform hosts both established and rising scholars who contribute to our understanding of these fields of study. The OTS-NYU serves both the NYU community and the public in general.

Unless noted otherwise, all events are held at the Hagop Kevorkian Center for Near Eastern Studies 255 Sullivan St (at Washington Square South).
